There’s a saying I’ve heard around the insurance industry, “Once you’re in insurance, you’re in it for life.” It’s true. Many agencies have been around for 50 or even 100 years; spanning 3 or 4 generations. It’s also an industry whose employees stay in 10, 15, 20, 30 years where they end up helping an insured’s family through many generations as well.

With all this longevity, you may not remember being the new person. After completing my first week at Jackson Sumner & Associates, I will not take it for granted ever again. It’s a bit like drinking from a fire hose; meeting new people, completing paperwork, undergoing training, attending meetings, completing more paperwork, and generally learning your way around a state-of-the-art building. It can be daunting.

I can honestly say that this is the best “new job” experience I’ve ever had. Not just because Pamela brought Krispy Kreme doughnuts to my first support team meeting last Friday, although I’ll admit that WAS a highlight. A lot of time and effort went into my on-boarding process, and I am grateful to everyone who has been so patient and generous with their time.

ALL the employees at JSA are very people-oriented, patient and generous with their time,..not just with new employees, but with agents as well. The focus on education, helping each agency regardless of size, and remembering to assist agents with “genuine care” is something you can feel in every interaction. I’m so happy to be at JSA even if it means I do sleep exceedingly well at night.

I look forward to meeting ALL of you soon.  Feel free to contact me HERE
